In my first "sci-fi" book, "Interview with the Time Traveler," I introduced some of the background details of the author—Genesis Pilgrim. Originally living in the 21st Century, Genesis moved beyond our timeline into 5000 A.D. In this futuristic society, Genesis assumes leadership to help humans overcome the tragedies of the past in preparation for their future challenges. In this leadership role, Genesis busies himself researching ancient humanity—attempting to locate missing pieces from the past.
More specifically, Genesis is an Accessions Commander, tasked with locating and retrieving ancient humans with specific skill sets to teach humans in 5000 A.D. And, in the assignment of his leadership responsibilities, Genesis writes—extensively. Many of his books are sent back in time to be received by specific people in history—inviting them to join with Genesis’ futuristic society in repairing damage which has occurred over the millennia of human history. Also, in many cases, futuristic humans lack understanding of certain things from the past—so Genesis works to explain basic concepts from historic religious books.
As my writing projects continue, I will chronicle the various missions of Genesis, in addition to providing his insights on the ancient world.
What I enjoy most about this perspective is being able to approach topics with creativity and imagination. Rather than a 21st Century human speaking to 21st Century humans, my books are unique because they are visionary writings of a leader who links together past and present. Genesis has a unique perspective on ancient humanity: Whereas many others deride the ancients; Genesis puts forth the thought that the ancients were in fact "much" more advanced than 21st Century humans—particularly in their spirituality. And, within these heightened spiritual abilities, Genesis points out the transcendence achieved by ancient humans—which was somehow lost amid the emergence of modern comforts and protection from trauma.
Moreover, my work is unique because it offers a full perspective on human psychology—particularly how the mind interacts with itself, especially in the aftermath of trauma. Many of the details in these books offer a perspective on my own mind—how I feel and think as a result of my past military experiences (and one could rightly say Genesis is a depersonalization of myself). This is why I chose to write through the pen name—offering a free indication of how I feel, being split apart from within. In many ways, my writing has been a blessing to me—allowing me to search out myself, locating blessings blossoming up from pain. And, I can say through my writing I am getting to meet myself once again—developing a clearer picture of how my mind works. Frankly, I have been enjoying the surges of power—learning to step away from myself, walking by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7). I want to let go of the things which hinder my spirit—and this process of research and writing has been most helpful in that pursuit.
If you are new to my work, I invite you to pick up and read any of the books. The order in which they are read does not matter. But I think you will find them even more interesting now that you know how they all work with one another. There are “Easter eggs” located throughout all my books, linking them to one another. So, I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoy writing them! Be blessed, friend.
Sincerely,
Genesis Pilgrim, 2020
